Sirano de Beržerak
Sirano de Beržerak je romantična drama smještena u 17. stoljeće, koja prati talentiranog i duhovitog pjesnika, vojnika i mačevaoca Sirana de Beržeraka.
Sirano je poznat po svojoj hrabrosti i oštrom jeziku, ali i po svom kompleksu – ima izuzetno velik nos zbog kojeg se smatra neprivlačnim i boji se priznati ljubav prema svojoj rođakinji Roxani.
Roxana je lijepa i inteligentna mlada žena u koju je zaljubljen i mladi, zgodni vojnik Kristijan de Neviljet. Kristijan nema dar govora niti pismenost kakvu Roxana cijeni, pa mu Sirano pomaže – piše pisma i govori u njegovo ime, skrivajući vlastita osjećanja. Roxana se zaljubljuje u Kristijana misleći da su njegove riječi dokaz velike duhovnosti i ljubavi.
Tijekom rata, Kristijan pogiba, a Roxana odlazi u samostan, oplakujući izgubljenu ljubav. Sirano ostaje njezin prijatelj i posjećuje je godinama. Tek na samrti, kada Sirano teško ranjen dolazi na posljednji susret, Roxana shvaća da je on cijelo vrijeme bio pravi autor pisama i njezine istinske ljubavi. No, spoznaja dolazi prekasno jer Sirano umire na kraju susreta.
Rostand u "Siranu de Beržeraku" veliča ideale ljubavi, hrabrosti i časti, prikazujući lik koji ostaje vjeran sebi i svojim osjećajima, unatoč fizičkim manama i životnim tragedijama. Drama je jedan od najljepših izraza francuskog romantizma.
