Two men facing a mid-life crisis, Klaus Buch and Helmut Halm, are old school friends and meet by chance while vacationing with their wives on Lake Constance. Their socializing during the vacation turns into a power struggle. Klaus flaunts his masculinity, while Helmut has resigned himself to his ordinary, uneventful life.
