Jedra na kraju svijeta

Sails at the End of the World is an exciting maritime adventure novel by the prominent Slovenian author Tone Seliškar, best known for the beloved children's classic The Crew of the Blue Seagull. In this work, Seliškar once again takes young readers out to the open sea, blending a love for the ocean with the spirit of exploration and the fearlessness of young heroes. The plot follows a daring crew as they set sail on a sailing ship into distant, uncharted waters. Faced with storms, mysterious islands, ocean currents, and the perilous challenges of navigating remote stretches of the sea, the young sailors must demonstrate exceptional resourcefulness, courage, and solidarity. The voyage toward the "end of the world" becomes a symbol of growing up, testing one's limits, and discovering the power of human unity. Seliškar masterfully depicts life aboard the ship, the might of nature, and the beauty of marine landscapes, while using dynamic dialogue and a suspenseful plot to create characters with whom young readers can easily identify. Sails at the End of the World is a moving and inspiring story about friendship, loyalty, and the indomitable human desire to discover the unknown—a work remembered as a true gem of regional children's literature.
