Priče za djecu

Priče za djecu

Nevenka Bakoš

Stories for Children by Nevenka Bakoš is a collection of short, warm and educational stories intended for younger children.

The characters are most often children or animals with human characteristics. The situations are everyday, but often enriched with magic or imaginative twists – for example, objects that talk, animals that have a dialogue, or children who solve a problem with the help of unusual friends. The messages are mild and unobtrusive: the importance of kindness, honesty, courage and mutual respect. The atmosphere is cheerful and optimistic, even when the stories touch on problems such as loneliness or disobedience. The collection is an example of classic Croatian children's literature from the 80s, simple and accessible, intended for reading in lower grades of elementary school or for family reading aloud.
