Fjodor M. Dostojevski
Fjodor Mihajlovič Dostojevski (1821–1881) bio je jedan od najznačajnijih ruskih pisaca i mislilaca 19. veka, poznat po dubokim psihološkim analizama likova i filozofskih tema u svojim delima. Rođen je u Moskvi, a studirao je na Vojnotehničkoj akademiji u Sankt Peterburgu. Priznanje je stekao svojim prvim romanom, Jadnici (1846), ali je ubrzo uhapšen zbog učešća u krugu Petraševskog, grupi intelektualaca koji su kritikovali carski režim.
Nakon što je u poslednjem trenutku pomilovan od smrtne kazne, proveo je četiri godine u sibirskom zatvoru, što je duboko uticalo na njegovu kasniju književnost. Njegova najpoznatija dela su Zločin i kazna, Idiot, Zli duhovi i Braća Karamazovi. U ovim romanima on istražuje moral, veru, slobodnu volju, greh i iskupljenje kroz snažne i složene likove.
Dostojevski je takođe bio aktivan kao novinar i esejista, a borio se i sa ličnim problemima poput epilepsije, zavisnosti od kockanja i finansijskih poteškoća. Njegov doprinos svetskoj književnosti ogleda se u snažnom uticaju na egzistencijalističku filozofiju i modernu psihologiju.
Umro je 1881. godine u Sankt Peterburgu, a njegova dela su i danas nezaobilazna u svetskoj književnoj baštini.
