Fjodor Mihajlovič Dostojevski
Fjodor Mihajlovič Dostojevski (1821.–1881.) bio je jedan od najvažnijih ruskih književnika i mislilaca 19. stoljeća, poznat po dubokim psihološkim analizama likova i filozofskim temama u svojim djelima. Rođen je u Moskvi, a školovao se na Vojnoj inženjerskoj akademiji u Sankt-Peterburgu. Već prvim romanom Bijedni ljudi (1846.) stekao je priznanje, ali je ubrzo uhićen zbog sudjelovanja u kružoku Petraševskog, skupini intelektualaca koji su kritizirali caristički režim.
Nakon što je pomilovan u posljednji trenutak od smrtne kazne, proveo je četiri godine u sibirskom zatvoru, što je duboko utjecalo na njegovu kasniju književnost. Njegova najpoznatija djela uključuju Zločin i kaznu, Idiot, Zli dusi i Braća Karamazovi. U tim romanima istražuje moral, vjeru, slobodu volje, grijeh i iskupljenje kroz snažne i kompleksne likove.
Dostojevski je također bio aktivan kao novinar i esejist, a borio se i s osobnim problemima poput epilepsije, kockarske ovisnosti i financijskih poteškoća. Njegov doprinos svjetskoj književnosti ogleda se u snažnom utjecaju na egzistencijalističku filozofiju i modernu psihologiju.
Umro je 1881. godine u Sankt-Peterburgu, a njegova djela i danas su nezaobilazna u svjetskoj književnoj baštini.
