Priča iz jednog zagrebačkog naselja strpljivo, koncentrisano i inteligentno se odvija pred očima čitaoca.

U tom naselju, leta 2003. godine, dogodilo se više od jednog ubistva. „Tiha ulica, avenija sa drvoredom“ je zasićena opisima toplih, lepljivih, smrdljivih, sivo-maglovitih isparenja grada, kroz koje narator, pomoću rendgenskih zraka, zalazi u skrivenu unutrašnjost stanova čiji stanovnici, upravo otvaranjem prozora u potrazi za vetrom i „čistim vazduhom“, posmatraju ubistva, učestvuju u razgovorima sa komšijama, mirišu ulicu i osluškuju korake patika broj 41.
