Seljačka buna
A historical novel by August Šenoa, published in Vijenac in 1877 and as a book in 1878. The novel is subtitled "Historical Narrative of the 16th Century", so it can be viewed as a historical monograph in the form of a novel.
Šenoa's historical novel The Peasant Revolt is a faithful reconstruction of the famous Croatian peasant uprising of 1573 and all the events that preceded it. The author's focus is on the conflict between the nobles Franjo Tahi and Uršula Heningova over ownership of the estates of Susjedgrad and Stubica, which caused one of the most tragic episodes in Croatian history, all in the shadow of the constant Turkish threat.
