Župa Rokovci - Andrijaševci
An illustrated history of the Rokovci–Andrijaševci parish, preserving the story of its religious community, clergy and local ecclesiastical heritage.
Župa Rokovci Andrijaševci by Mirko Crnčan and Antun Dević is a substantial monograph devoted to the ecclesiastical history and religious heritage of two neighbouring communities. It approaches the parish as a community whose past is inseparable from its people, priests and the changes that shaped local life.
An important element is the account of parish ministry and the clergy who served Rokovci and Andrijaševci. Their history helps readers trace continuity in religious life and understand the priest’s place within the community. The parish’s official website itself draws on this volume when presenting its former parish priests.
Photographic material complements the historical narrative, bringing readers closer to the places discussed. The combination of text and illustrations gives the volume documentary interest, while its bibliography and references offer a starting point for further study.
The book will appeal to parishioners, their descendants and people living away from their home villages, as well as researchers of church and local history. It is particularly relevant to readers wishing to maintain their connection with Rokovci and Andrijaševci and explore the religious dimension of the area’s identity and historical memory.
