Franjo Dolenec and Ante Lui were prominent Croatian biologists and educators. Lui, for example, worked as a high school teacher in Zagreb and as a professor at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, University of Zagreb, where he taught courses such as Comparative Anatomy and Physiology of Animals and General Biology and Evolution. His contribution to education includes authorship or co-authorship of more than 20 textbooks for primary and secondary schools.
