Suvremena katolička enciklopedija 1-2

The Modern Catholic Encyclopedia, published in Croatian as Suvremena katolička enciklopedija, offers an alphabetical survey of Catholic belief, history and Church life. Explanations of theological concepts appear alongside information about people, institutions and traditions that have shaped the Catholic Church.

Edited by Michael Glazier and Monika K. Hellwig, the work has been adapted for Croatian readers. Additional contributions address Catholicism in Croatia and among Croats, including prominent figures and religious congregations, while terminology has been aligned with Croatian theological usage.

The reference format supports both quick consultation and broader exploration. Readers can look up individual subjects or connect related entries to develop a fuller understanding of Christian tradition. Illustrations and indexes assist navigation and make the material easier to use.

The encyclopedia will interest readers exploring faith, Church history and Europe’s spiritual heritage, as well as teachers and students seeking a general reference work. Its appeal lies in bringing varied subjects together while connecting the wider Catholic tradition with Croatian religious and cultural experience.
