Zagor – Kolor #10: Witiko

Zagor, Chico and trapper Doc Lester investigate the disappearance of soldiers caught in a mountain blizzard. Finding bodies partly eaten by wolves does not answer every question. Zagor discovers signs of a monstrous creature linked to other tragic deaths. The inhabitants of a nearby Native American village call it Witiko.

Witiko combines a search through hostile wilderness with horror rooted in legend. Snow, mountains and storms make travel dangerous even before the unknown threat adds uncertainty to the investigation. What really happened to the missing soldiers, and what kind of creature haunts the area?

Moreno Burattini and Roberto Ravera use the encounter with a legend as the starting point for an adventure in which the heroes must distinguish evidence from fear. Doc Lester plays an important role as Zagor’s ally, with their shared search emphasising friendship and wilderness experience.

Emanuele Barison’s artwork, coloured by GFB Comics, accompanies an episode for readers who enjoy Zagor’s darker adventures. The winter setting and threat of the unknown create an eerie journey far from the safety of settled places.
