Bakonja fra Brne is a novel published in 1892 by Simo Matavulj. The plot is set in Dalmatinska Zagora around 1870, and the title character is a young man who, following the family tradition, becomes one of the Franciscan monks in the Visovac monastery.

The novel is characterized by a realistic depiction of the circumstances of the time, but also by humor; the author was inspired by his own experiences in the Orthodox monastery of Krupa.
