Kanonske vizitacije knjiga V. -Osijek i okolica 1732.-1833.
The book provides a Latin and comparative Croatian translation of the canonical visitations of Osijek and its surroundings from the first preserved visitation of Osijek in 1732 to 1833 (that is, for Čepin in 1899).
This is a significant period of time, and through canonical visitations you can see the life and growth of both the spiritual and material life of the city of Osijek and its surroundings. In addition to the visitation of the city of Osijek itself, which was an exempt parish and belonged to the Primate of Ostrogonia until 1776, when Osijek was included in the Diocese of Đakovo, the neighboring parishes of Aljmaša, Dalja, Sarvaša and Čepina are also visited here.
For the ecclesiastical, but also for the general secular history of Osijek and the surrounding towns, these canonical visitations are a first-class historical source, all the more valuable because there is written material for Osijek and the surrounding towns up to the beginning of the 19th century. almost everything destroyed and missing. Some of the previous gaps in historical knowledge about Osijek and the surrounding places will be fully filled with these canonical visitations, and the rest will be confirmed and expanded."
