Cvjetko

Cvjetko

Zdenka Čorkalo

The topic of the short novel is the selection of a Croatian language teacher at a reputable high school.

Professor Kate, a publicist and PhD, was not selected even after the third attempt, after which she decided to write a complaint to the principal of the gymnasium and the relevant institutions, and to investigate for herself who is actually hiding behind the three-member committee that has refused to hire her for the third time.

Since the main duo in the committee for the selection of professors is Cvjetko and Ružica, Professor Kate also symbolically floristically calls the third member Dandelion in her literary herbarium, and the material for the material for their psychological profiles is reported to her by her niece Kate, who is a cleaner at that gymnasium. One of Kate's 'sins' for the committee is that she is 'full of aphorisms, proverbs and salt our minds in every written contact'.
