This collection includes works by significant Croatian writers of that period, providing insight into the development of Croatian prose during the Renaissance and Baroque. Numerous authors are represented in the collection, some of which are:
Nikša Ranjina: Known for his collection of poems "Ranjinina zbirka", which contains poems by various authors, as well as his own.
Marko Marulić: "Father of Croatian Literature", best known for his epic "Judith".
Hanibal Lucić: Renaissance poet and playwright, author of the play "Robinja".
Petar Hektorović: Author of "Ribanja i ribarskog prigovoranja", a work that combines prose and poetry.
