Anarhizam: Od doktrine do akcije

Daniel Guerin

Daniel Guérin, in his book Anarchism – From Doctrine to Action (published by L'Anarchisme, 1965), provides a comprehensive overview of anarchist thought, linking theoretical foundations with historical examples of revolutionary practice.

Guérin analyses the basic ideas of anarchism, emphasizing its constructive nature and rejection of authority. He emphasises that anarchism is not a utopian ideology, but a practical response to social injustices, aimed at creating a free and just society. The author draws on the thoughts of key anarchist theorists such as Proudhon, Bakunin and Kropotkin, but also on the experiences of revolutionary movements, in particular the Spanish Revolution of 1936.

The book is structured in three main parts:

  • The Driving Forces of Anarchism – explores the fundamental principles of anarchist thought and its critique of authority.

  • In Search of a Society of the Future – examines visions of an alternative social order based on freedom and equality.

  • Anarchism in Revolutionary Practice – analyses concrete historical examples where anarchist ideas have been put into practice, including the Russian Revolution, the Italian workers’ councils and the Spanish Civil War.

Guérin’s work stands out as an important contribution to the understanding of anarchism, offering readers insight into its theoretical depth and practical applicability.
