Latinsko-hrvatski i hrvatsko-latinski školski rječnik s kratkom gramatikom

Ivan Bekavac Basić, Jozo Marević, Franjo Međeral

A school dictionary intended for pupils, students and lovers of the Latin language. It contains an extensive list of Latin words with Croatian translations, including phrases, proverbs and idioms, as well as Croatian words with Latin equivalents.

The dictionary includes a brief overview of grammar, a Latin-Croatian dictionary with approximately 10,000 words and 1,300 phrases, a Croatian-Latin dictionary with approximately 2,700 words and 350 phrases, a list of names of persons, place names and mythological terms with approximately 2,100 words.

The structure of the dictionary facilitates quick searching, with alphabetical order and notes on the contextual use of words. In addition to the dictionary, a concise grammar of the Latin language is included, which covers basic declensions, conjugations, syntax and key rules, helping in understanding and translating texts. It is adapted to school needs, ideal for learning, exam preparation and independent study. The emphasis is on the connection between Latin and the Croatian language and cultural heritage, making it a valuable source for education and research of classical culture.
