Revolution and Military Thought is a political-theoretical work by Edvard Kardelj, which examines the relationship between revolution, social change, and defense (military) organization in the socialist system. Kardelj draws on Marxist theory and the experience of the Yugoslav revolution, and emphasizes that the defense of the state and social order is closely linked to the political and economic character of society. Military organization is not viewed in isolation, but as part of a broader social system. He places special emphasis on the concept of general national defense, which developed in Yugoslavia after World War II. According to this idea, the defense of the country is not only the task of a professional army, but also includes the broad participation of citizens.
