The author signed as Tom Hill is actually the Danish writer Karen Brunés (1893–1977), who wrote 16 books about Crockett between 1955 and 1960. They are part of the "crocketomania" that swept America in the 1950s (thanks to Disney movies and series) and quickly spread to Europe.
