Revolucija nade : za humanizaciju tehnike

Erich Fromm

A humanistic study by Erich Fromm. The author analyzes the dangers of a mechanized society and offers a vision of the humanization of technology, the return of hope, active resistance to alienation, and faith in human potential.

"The Revolution of Hope" (originally published in 1968) is one of the key sociological and philosophical works of the German-American psychoanalyst and humanist Erich Fromm. Written during the turbulent period of social upheaval in the late 1960s, this book represents a powerful response to the growing sense of hopelessness, alienation and passivity that oppresses modern man in an industrial and technologically advanced society. In this work, Fromm starts from a critique of a "dehumanized society" in which technological progress and consumer mentality turn the individual into a mere cog in a machine, reducing his capacity for authentic feeling and creative action. In contrast to false optimism and passive expectation, the author defines hope as an active inner state, readiness and intellectual-emotional alertness that initiates change. He calls for the "humanization of technology", emphasizing that the machine must serve the development of man, and not man the machine. Through the analysis of the individual and the social structure, Fromm offers concrete guidelines for the creation of a more humane order based on participatory democracy, active resistance to conformity and the renewal of spiritual values. Written in a clear, engaging and deeply humane style, "The Revolution of Hope" is a timeless call to the awakening of the individual and an extremely current study on the possibilities of building a fairer and more meaningful world.
