Tango Bango

Tango Bango

Aerodrom

The album "Tango Bango" by the group Aerodrom, recorded in Milan and Zagreb with producer Piko Stančić, brings a fresh blend of new wave, rock and reggae with hits like "Stavi pravu stvar".

The album "Tango Bango" is the second studio album by the famous Zagreb rock band Aerodrom, released in June 1981 under the auspices of the Jugoton record label. It was recorded in late 1980 and early 1981 at the General Recording Sound studio in Milan and in Zagreb, under the direction and production of the legendary Ivan Pika Stančić.

Musically, "Tango Bango" represents an important stylistic step forward and evolution of sound compared to their debut work. The album brings a very fresh and eclectic blend of new wave, classic rock, progressive and psychedelic elements, and modern reggae, ska and dub rhythms that dominated the European music scene at the time. The band's lineup at that golden time consisted of songwriter, guitarist and vocalist Jura Pađen, keyboardist Mladen Krajnik, bassist Remo Cartagine, drummer Zlatan Živković and vocalist Branko Knežević.

With a total of ten songs, the album offers a diverse repertoire. Side A begins with the big hit "Stavi pravu stvar", followed by the songs "Tvoje Lice", "Dobro Se Zabavljaj", "Rock & Porok" and "Nudistička Plaža". Side B features the instrumentals "Aerodrom" and "Mordorea", and the songs "Mijenjam Se", "Djevojke" and "Monotonija". The lyrics are mostly by Jura Pađen, while the music was composed by Pađen, Krajnik and Cartagine. The visual identity of the record, with a striking inner sleeve and photographs of Goran Pipo Pavelić designed by Ivan Stančić, perfectly rounds off this exceptional discographic story.
