Julija ili Nova Heloisa I-II

Julija ili Nova Heloisa I-II

Jean-Jacques Rousseau

Juliet or New Heloise, a masterpiece of epistolary literature, is a series of letters through which "two or three modest but sensitive young women talk to each other about what interests their hearts." With a foreword by Ivo Hergešić.

Rousseau's early epistolary novel that achieved sensational success. This work is significant as a superb example of epistolary literature in which, through letters from different senders, narrative and moral perspectives, love-sentimental prose (see the theme of unrequited love) and philosophical discussion are combined.
