Legends of Christ is a collection of stories by Swedish writer Selma Lagerlof, and it begins with the only realistic story in the entire book, entitled Holy Night.
The main character is the brave and good giant Jože, "strong as a bull, with a bushy head", who lives in the vicinity of the Istrian town of Motovun. The book was created on the basis of folk stories and folklore motifs.
The story takes place in a small Dalmatian town during the summer holidays. The main character, Petar, along with his friends Koko, Zec and Mirko, get into a series of comical and tense adventures.
