"Voće tela" (1983.) je roman Milana Rankovića istražuje tjelesnost kao izvor užitka, patnje i društvene interakcije u kontekstu jugoslavenskog socijalizma. Roman ostaje nedovoljno pročitan dragulj jugoslavenske proze 1980-ih.

Glavni lik, sredovječni intelektualac i estetičar poput samog autora, vodi nas kroz introspektivnu potragu za smislom fizičkog postojanja. Kroz seriju fragmenata i monologa, Ranković sagledava "voće tela" – metaforički plodove tjelesnih iskustava: ljubavne avanture, roditeljstvo, bolesti i umjetničke inspiracije.

Radnja, labirintski strukturirana, kreće se između Beograda i Zagreba, gdje protagonist susreće bivše ljubavi, kolege i anonimne susrete koji otkrivaju kontraste između idealizirane estetike tijela u umjetnosti i gruboj realnosti svakodnevnog života. U jednom ključnom segmentu, lik se suočava s mladim umjetnikom koji ga optužuje za kompromis s tijelom u korist ideologije, pokrećući duboku samorefleksiju o seksualnosti kao otporu sistemu.

Roman naglašava Rankovićevu pozadinu kao teoretičara umjetnosti – utjecaje od Kafke do Barthesa – kritizirajući represiju tijela u socijalizmu i slaveći njegovu senzualnost. Stil je fragmentaran, poetski, pun alegorija (tijelo kao vrt, voće kao grijeh i nagrada), s dozama humora i ironije prema birokratskoj Jugoslaviji. Kao dio Rankovićeve kasne faze, djelo povezuje njegove ranije eseje o estetici s fikcijom, ostavljajući čitatelja s pitanjem: je li tijelo plod ili teret slobode?
