Kći snijega

Kći snijega

Jack London

Jack London's first novel, Snow Daughter is a novel about a strong heroine who resists very rigid social conventions.

The novel takes place in Alaska near the end of the 19th century. at a time when the social laws of civilization were still in their infancy. The territory was inhabited by indigenous Indians and only a few settlers... And so until the "Gold Rush", one of the largest, most uncertain and most dangerous economic migrations in history, took hold. People rushed to unknown and merciless regions, guided by only one thought: Gold, gold! And a dream of wealth. This is also a novel about people, about their persistence, courage, strength of mind and body. About individuals who push the boundaries in a terrifying natural environment, where every movement or mishap means life or death. The heroine of this story is Frona Wels, who returns to her native place in Alaska after several years in Europe. He encounters a number of obstacles, but overcomes them with the strength of his mind and body.
