Sebastian Faulks

Concerns Are for Others is a sequel to the James Bond novel written by Sebastian Faulks. It was published in the UK by Penguin Books on 28 May 2008, the 100th anniversary of the birth of Ian Fleming, the creator of Bond.

James Bond is back! On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of his creator Ian Fleming, British author Sebastian Faulks was given the opportunity to inherit the literary adventures of agent 007. Set in the late 1960s, when the Vietnam conflict and the accompanying social changes in the West began to change the dynamics of the Cold War, the book "The Concerns Are for Others" continues the novels and short stories about Bond that Fleming wrote until his death in 1964.

In the midst of the Cold War, Bond confronts an insidious threat to the very fabric of British society - and the fragile balance of superpowers - in a mission that will take him to the unknown, where he will find himself between a pair of enigmatic twins and face a powerful enemy...

Although he has never written a thriller before, Faulks has masterfully crafted an instantly recognizable plot, full of exotic locations and thrilling action scenes, written in a fierce style and populated by a compelling cast of characters led by Agent 007. "Bond has been through a lot and the years are wearing him down," reveals Faulks. "In a way, it's about the gunslinger returning for one last, heroic mission."
