Marijan Gubina's autobiographical work 260 Days is a poignant and personal chronicle of the tragic events during the Homeland War. Through the perspective of a ten-year-old boy, the author describes 260 days of imprisonment, abuse, and severe physical and psychological trauma that he and his family experienced in the occupied Osijek suburb of Dalj in 1991. The novel authentically and without embellishment depicts the suffering of an innocent child faced with the horrors of war, loss of freedom, fear, and loss of human rights and dignity.
