The first part is an introduction and help in choosing a path, and then the main paths of yoga are described: jnana, bhakti, karma, raja, laya, but also different methods of awakening kundalini, including tantra. The description and understanding of the ways of yoga are the result of the author's direct experience, which he gained since his early boyhood days practicing all the disciplines of yoga. Born in 1925 in northern India, he describes himself as a messenger who transmits the wisdom of the Himalayan sages.
