Dečko, dama, kralj, špijun

Dečko, dama, kralj, špijun

John Le Carre

A novel by an excellent English writer of spy novels, a successful reconstruction of the intricate, dangerous world of the intelligence services, especially in their golden, Cold War period.

The main character of this novel, one of the most convincing spy characters, is the middle-aged George Smiley, a top British intelligence officer and uncompromising Cold War seeker for Soviet moles in British intelligence services. The first part of the trilogy with Smiley in the lead role is precisely this title, which is the basis for the film of the same name. He is followed by: "Noble student" and "Smiley's people".
