Opća povijest prava i države 1-2

Šefko Kurtović

"General History of Law and State 1-2" by Šefko Kurtović is a university textbook that systematically deals with the historical development of legal systems and state arrangements from the earliest civilizations to modern times.

The work is divided into two parts and is intended for students of law, history and political science, but also for all those interested in the legal-historical development of societies.

The first part focuses on ancient civilizations such as Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece and Rome, analyzing their legal systems, institutions and the conceptual development of the idea of the state. Special attention is paid to Roman law, which forms the basis of modern legal systems.

The second part traces medieval and modern legal systems, including feudalism, the development of nation-states, and the influence of revolutions and the Enlightenment on legal change. The textbook ends with an overview of contemporary legal systems.

The book provides a detailed and analytical approach to the historical development of law and the state, with the aim of understanding legal norms and their evolution.
