Najveće svetske nakaze i čudaci

Mike Parker

The book provides a fascinating overview of some of the most extraordinary people in history. The book offers an intriguing blend of history, medicine and culture and provides insight into social norms and the fascination with human diversity throughout h

The author explores the lives of people with rare physical anomalies, incredible talents or bizarre life stories, often depicted as attractions in circuses and fairs during the 19th and 20th centuries.

Parker describes the fates of famous circus performers such as Joseph Merrick, known as "The Elephant Man", conjoined twin brothers Chang and Eng Bunker, and Fanny Mills, a woman with extremely large feet. The book also explores cases of people with rare medical conditions, such as hypertrichosis (werewolf syndrome) and giant stature, and their impact on society.

In addition to physical characteristics, Parker also looks at eccentric people who shocked the public with their behavior, unusual eating habits or radical lifestyles. The author also raises ethical questions about the way these people were treated, often exploited for profit, but also how, despite everything, some of them managed to build their own careers and become famous.
