Među papirima Harmsove zaostavštine pronađen je i popis priča i kraćih komada koje je ovaj kultni marginalac planirao jednog dana staviti u možebitnu knjigu. Nesretnom Harmsu, koji je umro u zatvoru u 37. godini, sovjetske vlasti na žalost nisu dopustite realizaciju nauma, tako da je ostao tek “nacrt”. Slijedeći taj raspored tekstova iz Harmsove bilježnice, “Šareni dućan” objavljuje ovu knjigu točno onako kako ju je zamislio sam Harms!

Knjiga obuhvaća novootkrivene priče i crtice te od ranije poznate anegdote i hitove, a koji nisu ušli u kompilaciju "Sasvim obične besmislice". U priloženom eseju "Slučaj Harms" prevoditeljica Irena Lukšić donosi opsežan Harmsov životopis.
