Konstantin Bogobojazni

Konstantin Bogobojazni

Simo Mraović

This is the confession of Konstantin, an unknown poet who walked the streets of the benevolent city of Zagreb during the whirlwind of war.

He wasn't particularly handsome. He wasn't important, no. He wasn't unlucky in love either, oh no, not at all. He thought he was destined for something great. Young people sometimes have that deceptive feeling But don't worry, he won't go beyond these covers. This last, pre-war summer, he spent in kissing and drinking. No, he's not wealthy. He doesn't own anything. He's not a proletarian, he doesn't feel that way. He's not a practical believer. He doesn't believe in materialism. He doesn't believe that humans evolved from monkeys. He thinks that monkeys evolved from humans. With all due respect to monkeys. His story doesn't begin until autumn. Well, in the hot autumn.
