Gorski vijenac
This epic is considered the most significant work of Serbian Romanticism, but also one of the most significant works of Serbian and South Slavic literature in general.
It was written in 1846 and printed a year later in a monastery in Vienna. The work is written in epic-dramatic form, but is completely permeated with lyrical elements, which is characteristic of Romantic literature.
