Godišnja doba

Stephen King

"Seasons" is a collection of four novellas, three of which have been made into successful films. Each novella symbolically represents a season and explores different aspects of human nature, often through a dark but deeply emotional prism.

The book consists of the following short stories:

  • "Springtime: Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption" – Follows Andy Dufresne, a banker wrongly convicted of murdering his wife, who shows extraordinary strength of spirit and intelligence in Shawshank Prison to secure justice and freedom. Inspiration for the film The Shawshank Redemption.

  • "Summer of Corruption: The Gifted Pupil" – Young Todd discovers that his neighbor is a former Nazi war criminal. Their relationship develops into a dark psychological game that leads to ruin. Filmed as Apt Pupil.

  • "Autumn of Lost Innocence: The Corpse" – Four boys set out in search of the body of a missing boy, resulting in an unforgettable journey of maturation. The film Stand by Me is based on this story.

  • "The Winter's Tale: The Breathing Method" – An unusual story about a woman trying to give birth under extremely bizarre circumstances, told in a secret book club.

The "Seasons" collection reflects King's ability to write outside of the horror genre, focusing on character, emotion and moral dilemmas.
