Mato Lovrak

TRAIN IN THE SNOW is a children's classic by the beloved writer Mate Lovrak, with whom generations of young readers have grown up and matured.

Three fourth-grade students live in Jabukovac in Veliko Selo. Their names are Ljuban, Draga, and Pero. The teacher takes the students of this rural school on a trip to the city by train. There, at the printing house, they thank the school for the free trip to Zagreb with a song, and finally they go to the zoo. However, the teacher falls ill in the city and stays in the hospital, and the children have to return alone. On the way back, they are caught in a winter storm and the train stops in front of a snowdrift. Thanks to the help of the children, the railway workers free the train.
