Uništenje Atlantide: Uvjerljiv dokaz o iznenadnoj propasti legendarne civilizacije

Frank Joseph

Frank Joseph (real name Francis Joseph Collin) presents in this book the most comprehensive modern defense of Plato's Atlantis as a real historical civilization that disappeared in a catastrophe around 1628–1600 BC.

According to Joseph, Atlantis was a maritime empire centered in the eastern Atlantic (Azores, Madeira, Canary Islands + the Bahamas), which controlled the trade in tin and bronze. Its culture was based on a sun cult, circular cities, and advanced metallurgy. The author identifies the key catastrophe with the eruption of the volcano Thera (Santorini), four times more powerful than Krakatoa, which caused tsunamis 150–250 meters high and destroyed the Atlantic fleet and sank most of the islands.

The book presents:

  • coincidence of dates (Plato's "9000 years before Solon" = approximately 1628 BC according to the Egyptian lunar calendar);
  • underwater "roads" and pyramids at Bimini and Yonaguni;
  • bronze weapons and jewelry in America from that period;
  • identical myths about the flood and "white gods" in Egypt, Greece, and America.

Joseph argues that surviving Atlanteans founded the civilizations of the Olmecs, early Egypt, and Mycenaean Greece. Richly illustrated with maps, photographs, and tables, the book remains the most detailed "dossier" in defense of historical Atlantis and a standard work in alternative archaeology.
