Sa osmijeha

Rakoš (1877–1966), a writer from Srijem and a prolific translator from Osijek, presents himself here as a silent observer of the common man. The stories are mostly introspective and realistic, focused on everyday life, small dramas, memories and the inner worlds of the characters. The tone is calm, reflective and slightly melancholic, with a slight lyrical undertone.

The title From a Smile itself suggests that the author wants to capture moments of warmth, tenderness or irony of fate in seemingly ordinary situations, but without forced optimism or a comic approach.
