Hagioterapija i pastoral Crkve
The work explores hagiotherapy as a method of healing the spiritual soul and its application in the pastoral care of the Church. The author connects theology and spiritual help for the purpose of holistic healing and renewal of man.
The book "Hagiotherapy and the Pastoral Care of the Church" by the famous Croatian theologian, professor and priest Prof. Dr. Tomislav Ivančić, published in 1996, represents one of the key works for understanding the specific healing method that the author himself founded — hagiotherapy. In this work, Ivančić elaborates in detail the theoretical and practical foundations of hagiotherapy as a theological-anthropological approach that deals with the spiritual dimension of man, that is, the suffering and wounds that affect the human soul and spirit.
The author clearly distinguishes spiritual wounds from mental and physical illnesses, emphasizing that the spiritual soul requires specific therapy based on spiritual principles, truth, goodness, love and faith. The book then focuses on the complementarity and interpenetration of hagiotherapy with the regular pastoral work of the Catholic Church. Ivančić emphasizes that pastoral care should not remain only at the level of ritual and instruction, but must become an effective force that brings liberation, restores trust and brings meaning to each individual.
Written with profound theological insight, but also with exceptional pastoral sensitivity, the book provides valuable guidance for priests, pastoral workers, and laypeople. The work encourages a holistic approach to the human person and remains an extremely important testimony to the innovative combination of Christian spirituality and practical help to people in need.
