Zagor Extra Retro #5: Tajna služba
Zagor and Chico guide three Englishmen towards Two Fingers Lake and a promised job. Their suspicious behaviour and a mysterious pursuer point towards a dangerous conspiracy.
In Tajna služba, Zagor and Chico agree to guide three young Englishmen: George Ellis, Tony Rogers and Roddy Greaton. Their destination is Two Fingers Lake, where a fellow countryman, Philip Warwick, has supposedly offered them employment in his lumber business. Their behaviour, however, gradually raises doubts.
A journey through the wilderness becomes an espionage mystery. The travellers seem unusually determined to reach their destination, while a mysterious man follows the group. Zagor must decide whom to trust and what purpose lies behind the convincing employment story.
Guido Nolitta combines adventure with political conspiracy, secret assignments and concealed identities. The tension rests on the difference between what the travellers say and what their actions reveal. Knowing the forest is not enough: Zagor must also understand the people he is guiding. Chico brings humour to the journey without diminishing the danger confronting them.
Gallieno Ferri illustrates this middle instalment of the adventure begun in Samoubilački juriš. The issue develops the conspiracy and leads towards the conclusion in Strijeljanje.
