Zagor – Kolor #18: Tajanstveni biser

A letter from Captain Fishleg brings Zagor and Chico to Port Whale. Away at sea, the captain asks his friends to watch over his niece Virginia, who appears to be in trouble. She has become involved in the search for an unusual pearl with blood-red reflections.

Tajanstveni biser connects a personal request from an old friend with the fate of a distant kingdom. The pearl is more than a valuable jewel: the interests surrounding it reach as far as Southeast Asia. Zagor must protect Virginia amid a search involving several rival groups.

Those seeking the pearl include Dayaks sent by the Rajah of Sarawak, Roma nomads, a Malay princess, an enormous Chinese man and a mysterious English adventurer. Competing aims and uncertain intentions give the plot the character of an adventure mystery, with the significance of the coveted object as important as its whereabouts.

Samuel Marolla’s story links a port town to distant lands and their conflicts. Paolo Bisi’s artwork, coloured by GFB Comics, follows Zagor into an adventure driven by friendship, a dangerous treasure and the need to help a young woman at risk.
