Inspiriert von den ewigen Geschichten um den meistgesuchten Haager Angeklagten, genauer gesagt um die gerade beendete „Jagd auf Karadžić“, erfand Đurđević den ersten serbischen Spionageroman, in dem der Anführer der bosnischen Serben die Hauptfigur ist. Dann kam sie auf die Idee, ihn in einem Belgrader Büro zu „verstecken“, wo er als Psychiater arbeitet und von „Angestellten“ verschiedener Dienste, von inländischen über russische bis hin zu amerikanischen, besucht wird, denn Belgrad ist der Treffpunkt der Geheimdienstelite der Welt.
