Beleške jedne Ane: Hej, nisam ti to pričala

Momo Kapor

Momo Kapor's "Notes of One Ana" were created from texts that began to be published in 1968 in the magazine Bazar. This collection of prose texts, known as the first "prose in jeans", quickly gained popularity in Yugoslavia.

Notes of a Single Ana, also known as Hey, I Didn't Tell You That, is one of Momo Kapor's most famous novels aimed at young people. The work is written in the form of diary entries and personal notes through which the main character Ana honestly and directly talks about her everyday life, feelings, desires and problems. This way of storytelling allows the reader to get closer to her thoughts and experience the world from the perspective of a young person going through a sensitive period of growing up.

Ana is an intelligent, sensitive and curious girl who tries to understand herself and the people around her. Through her entries we get to know her friends, family, school obligations and first love experiences. As she faces the various challenges of adolescence, Ana observes the world around her with a touch of humor, irony and honesty. Her thoughts often reveal the insecurities that accompany growing up, but also the desire for independence and understanding.

The themes of friendship, trust and love occupy an important place in the novel. Ana tries to find a balance between adult expectations and her own desires, often questioning social norms and relationships between people. Her experiences are presented in a way that is close to young readers, which is why many can identify with her dilemmas and feelings.

Kapor's style is characterized by simplicity, humor and warmth. The author successfully conveys the atmosphere of youthful life, while at the same time speaking about universal themes of growing up and maturing. The novel does not offer simple answers, but encourages the reader to think about their own experiences and relationships with others.

Due to its honesty, cheerfulness and psychological persuasiveness, Notes of a Young Ana remains one of the most read works for young people in the former Yugoslavia and a lasting testimony to the challenges and beauties of youthful growing up.
