Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol is a prominent Russian writer of Ukrainian origin whose books have left an indelible mark on world literature. He is considered one of the greatest writers of the 19th century. His works are imbued with satirical stories, fantastic elements, and vivid descriptions of Russian everyday life. Gogol is known for his novels "Dead Souls" and "The Inspector General," which are considered masterpieces of Russian literature and are essential school reading.
