Ne okreći se, sine je roman za djecu nastao nakon što je autor napisao scenarij za istoimeni film. Roman opisuje događanja za vrijeme Drugog svjetskog rata.

Glavni lik, inženjer Neven Novak, bježi iz vlaka koji prevozi zatvorenike u logor Jasenovac. Nakon bijega, odlučuje spasiti svog sina Zorana, smještenog u ustaškom dječjem domu u Zagrebu. Zoran je pod utjecajem ustaške propagande i ne prepoznaje oca, što dodatno komplicira njihov bijeg prema partizanskoj teritoriji. Roman istražuje teme roditeljske ljubavi, ideološke indoktrinacije i osobne hrabrosti u teškim vremenima. Diklić je prvo napisao scenarij za istoimeni film iz 1956. godine, a zatim je prema njemu nastao i roman. Ovo djelo smatra se značajnim doprinosom književnosti koja obrađuje ratne teme i odrastanje u ratnim uvjetima.
