Mato Lovrak

„Zug im Schnee“ ist ein Kinderbuchklassiker des beliebten Autors Mate Lovrak, mit dem Generationen junger Leser aufgewachsen und gereift sind.

Drei Viertklässler leben in Jabukovac in Veliko Selo. Ihre Namen sind Ljuban, Draga und Pero. Der Lehrer nimmt die Schüler dieser Dorfschule mit dem Zug in die Stadt. Dort, in der Druckerei, bedanken sie sich mit einem Lied für die kostenlose Fahrt nach Zagreb und gehen anschließend in den Zoo. Der Lehrer erkrankt jedoch in der Stadt und bleibt im Krankenhaus, sodass die Kinder alleine zurückkehren müssen. Auf dem Rückweg geraten sie in einen Wintersturm und der Zug bleibt vor einer Schneewehe stehen. Dank der Hilfe der Kinder können die Bahnarbeiter den Zug befreien.
