The textbook "Fundamentals of practical maternity" authored by prof. Ph.D. by Mihaila Čemerikić, published in the edition of "Medicinske knjiga" (Belgrade – Zagreb) in 1986, represents one of the fundamental works of classic Yugoslav obstetric literature. The book is designed as a comprehensive and extremely practical guide intended for medical students, gynecology and obstetrics residents, as well as midwives and general practitioners in their daily work. In the book, the author systematically presents the entire area of ​​maternity, divided into physiological and pathological processes. Special emphasis is placed on the diagnosis and management of normal childbirth, but also on the quick recognition and resolution of complications in pregnancy and during the act of giving birth (such as eclampsia, bleeding, irregular labor and dystocia).
