He returns to recover from a war injury, and while he refuses to admit that he has weakened, he finds comfort in the person he least expected. Kate Evans is an elementary school teacher in Sunshine, and she considers the place her true home. However, she dreams of further education and love that will last forever, so she tries to break the monotony that reigns around her. That monotony will be broken by Griffin. To him, Kate was just a friend of his younger sister, and now he realizes that he sees her with different eyes. However, as they both try to figure out what to do with their lives, they must decide if their affair can turn into something more.
