Tragom mrtve princeze

Tragom mrtve princeze

Kenizé Mourad

Kenize Murad, granddaughter of the Turkish Sultan Murad, was born in Paris and writes in French. She achieved world fame in the late 1980s with this novel.

The author based the story of her mother, the Turkish Princess Selma, on a true story, and she weaved it with love and tenderness, coloring historical facts with human warmth. Through the life of the Sultan's family in exile, this book describes the way of life and customs in Lebanon, and then in India, where Princess Selma arrives after marrying an Indian Raja. The last part of the book also shows Paris, in an atmosphere of uncertainty before World War II.
